Thanksgiving is next week already. I think we have everything we need. I just heard on GMA that 45 million turkeys will be eaten, that's a lot of turkey. Chris doesn't like turkey so we have a ham along with the turkey at our Thanksgiving celebration.
I made a really cool fall table runner and then put the same design on a dish towel and hot pads. They were so cute. I gave them to Rick's mom for holiday festiveness. She was tickled. I should have taken a picture first though. Maybe I will go down and take pictures. Well Happy Thanksgiving to everyone and don't forget to count your blessings :)

Holidays around the corner
I can't believe the holidays are just around the corner. Good thing I have been getting ready for them a little at a time all year. The time just goes by quicker and quicker, I can't hardly believe it. I read on someones blog today that there is 53 days until Christmas, well I guess it's really 52 since it's in the wee hours of the morning now. The vinyl siding on the house looks really good. We have just a couple of things left to do and then it is all done. I will post a picture when the front facia and gutters are done.

Exciting things happening at our house
Exciting things are happening at our house. We have slowly been replacing our windows with vinyl ones. This last week Rick bought a few more, added with the ones we had waiting to go in, all the windows will be done. We have also had vinyl siding for 2 or 3 years waiting to be installed. Tuesday it started to get installed. Boy oh boy does it look nice. It will almost look like a new house on the outside. We have a few busy beavers helping us. I'm so excited. Our house is almost where we want it, it's to bad when the housing market is better we will be selling it since we have the farm. Anyway, I'm still excited about how nice the outside will look.

Fall is just around the corner
Wow! I can't believe it is September already. School has started up and summer seems to be a blur. The last few days have been very fall like. It's been very refreshing.
I've gotten a little more of my Christmas shopping done. My craft room is coming along, Rick has the new wall up, wired and sheet rocked. We got the new shelves in the back porch and it looks much better back there. I'm starting to get a little organized at least.
I've been having a rough time of it lately. Lots of pain with headaches and migraine's. My niece, Aleya, and her new husband Jake are the new guardians of Chico. She says the new and improved Murphy family. It's so cute. Well I just want to wish everyone a happy fall.

Happy August
Wow! I can't believe it is August already. Where does the time go? Well we bought 30 acres. We signed papers on July 30th and all the money was disbursed yesterday. Pretty amazing, I never thought I would live out in the country. I guess I'm not a country girl yet as the house needs some work and it is a little more than half the size of our house now. Rick has gotten the cabinets in the craft room. He's moving things around in the garage again getting ready to make the wall. It's starting to come along.

Congrats to Mandi and Ben
Mandi and Ben were married on June 28, 2008. It was a beautiful wedding with the South Umpqua River as a backdrop. Many family and friends were there to share in their joy. They are honeymooning in Cozumel, Mexico.
With the wedding prep over life is settling down again. Boy was I ever tired. Kim turned in her notice at the hospital in Medford. She can't wait to move back to Cottage Grove. She misses all the family activities and she's in love. I told Rick he was going to have to start saving for another wedding.Tomorrow I am taking the first of 3 summer pie social sewing classes. We are making a pie carrier and/or a tool/utensil carrier. On Thursday I have my block of the month class. I have an order to make a couple of signs for Patrice, which are almost finished now. My niece is getting married this Friday so we will be heading for Albany. We still have 2 puppies left, so I guess I still have a lot going on. Maybe it will slow down soon.

Sad/Happy Day
It's a sad day for me as Rosie and Annie left tonight for their new homes. I sit here and cry because I miss their sweet beautiful faces, but I know they will make their new people very happy. They are 8 weeks old and ready to go but it is always sad as I get so attached. I know both Pam and Sherene are very happy and excited, but I miss them already. Rick placed the ad tonight for the three little boys so they will be online with their pictures.
I helped my neice Haley this last week with her big final project for block class. It was her Me Book. It turned out really nice. She was very grateful for the help and the supplies.

Holiday Weekend
Wow, I can't believe Memorial Day weekend is already here. I have been busy making signs. Kim wanted a couple of signs for prizes at Mandi's shower. I made a couple of signs for Pam to hold a drawing at her studio warming. Mandi gave me a list of signs to make for the wedding. That's what I have been working on the the last couple of days. The signs for the wine that they are having turned out really cute.
I got my napkins made from my embroidery class, now all I have to do is finish the placemats. I have them all cut out. I am also making my sister in law some statue of liberty napkins for her birthday. I think I will get started on that tomorrow.
The wedding is just around the corner. I still have to go shopping for a dress. I hate trying on clothes it's just so depressing.
The babies are 6 weeks old. I need to take some new pictures, and I guess we need to start advertising them.

Warm weather at last
Well we are finally having some warm sunny weather. Today Pam and I went to the high school plant sale. They are doing markdowns every week until school is out. We got some beautiful plants at some great prices. We also got plant fever. We went to 2 more greenhouses after the high school. I got a beautiful hanging basket at one and 3 rose bushes at the other. I'm so excited, one of the rose bushes will have dark purple roses, one will have lavender roses and the last one is a peace rose. I have never seen a dark purple rose before. I'm still looking for a Daphne bush. Anna has a beautiful one and they are so very fragrant. I found one for $40 but didn't want to pay that much for it. I will look around town tomorrow.
Well the babies are 5 weeks old now. Time flies when you're having fun. They are so dang cute I can hardly stand it. I'll have to figure out how to do the slide show so I can add that to my blog. I have a slideshow of them on my Tagged page. Well I hope everyone enjoys the nice weather, as for now I have a lot of planting to do. I also am going to make a couple of signs for my friend Pam's studio warming to raffle off to her guests.

Happy Birthday Mandi
Well today is Mandi's birthday. she is 26. Where does the time go? I don't think that I'm getting old until one of my kids have a birthday and then wow, where has the time gone. It goes by faster and faster.
Well yesterday my friend, Pam, and I took a quilt as you go table runner class. Well I hope she is still my friend since I talked her into taking the class. I'm very new to quilting, even though I have been sewing since the 7th grade. They didn't tell me when I signed up for the class that this pattern was one of the hardest and I don't think Pam has done quilt piecing or quilting. I had a good time and I think she did also. We didn't get our project finished but I'm to the point where I think I will be able to finish without much more help and I should be able to help Pam finish hers. The instructor was very nice and very helpful. I don't think she realized she would have quite a few beginners in her class. She said that she probably should have made it a 2 part class or had it go for longer than the 4 hours. Pam and I stayed for 5 hours. I can't wait until it's all finished. I think it will be really cute with the material that I picked out. I may change the backside color. I wasn't quite prepared for needing that big of piece of material and that was the only fabric that I had with me that was big enough, so I may change that part of it.

Happy May
Wow! I can't believe it is May 1st already. I just don't know where the time goes. There is only 57 days until Mandi's wedding. I finished her veil and it looks really cute, if I do say so myself. It's the first veil that I've made. I've got all the material cut and ready to go for making her garters.
The babies are now 3 weeks old. They are so cute and very cuddly. I get so attached to them that it is hard to let them go. I keep telling myself that I will be making someone very happy and they will have a very good companion. I guess I need a big ole farm out in the country so I could keep them all. The only part of that plan that would go over with Rick is moving out to the country, he always says 3 dogs are enough. I will post some new pictures of the babies soon.

Busy Day
Well I'm finally starting to feel a little better. I haven't been this sick in a long time. The new babies are a week old and growing like crazy. They are gaining between 1/2 oz. to 1 oz. a day. Cali certainly is a good mama. I did a few errands today, made a few phone calls, sent some emails with pictures attached and did some house cleaning. That pretty much wore me out. We had several friends stop by. Pam came by to pick up her tea strainer and hold her puppy, Sherene stopped by to see her new little puppy for the first time. She brought Cali, Dakota, and Deuce some treats. Both Pam and Sherene have picked names for their puppies, very cute ones I might add. Justin and Georgie stopped by this evening as well. Rick's two sisters popped in to take a peek at the new babies. Camille goes back to North Dakota tomorrow. She has been here helping with John who had surgery a week ago. John is starting to walk again so that is very good news. Rick has started on my craft room (space) out in the garage. I can't wait till it is finished but it is a slow process as he doesn't have a lot of spare time to work on it.

Cali had a 5th baby
Not long after I posted the news that Cali had her babies she had a 5th one. We now have 2 females and 3 males. Pam will be really happy since she wanted a girl and the first female was already spoken for.
The Babies have arrived
Cali had her puppies on April 9, 2008. She started just before 11pm and had the last puppy on April 10, 2008 at 12:30am. Cali had 1 female and 3 males just like her first litter. Mandi and Pam came over to help as I have been sick and running a temp of 104. Cali will now be able to get comfy on the couch or wherever she lays now.

Home and No New Babies Yet
Well my sister survived her 50th birthday and we had a great time in the Land of Disney! I got home last night and was happy to see Cali hadn't had her babies. She is very big and looks miserable. She just can't get comfy. She was so happy to see me. Rick brought all the dogs to the airport to pick me up, even Tonka, as Kim was home for the weekend. I will put on some new pictures soon with the new puppies.

Celebrating My Sister's B-day
On Thursday, April 3, I leave for sunny California to help my sister celebrate her 50th birthday in Disneyland. I will be going by myself as Rick is staying home in case our dog Cali has her babies, this could happen anytime. I'm very excited to go as my sister and I grew up going to Disneyland. She goes a lot and I go whenever I can talk Rick into it. He's not a big Disney person and I guess that's because he never lived 45 minutes away. I'll keep you posted with the new puppies and my trip

I'm new at this
I haven't ever blogged before, but thanks to my friend Pam she is getting me started in this. Now I really will be stressed out because I have to think of something worthwhile and profound to say.
