Halloween Just Around the Corner

Halloween is just a week away and I am totally ready. My house is decorated, inside and out, the dogs have their costumes and so do I, and the regular size candy bars I give our trick or treaters have been purchased. I love to see the kids faces when they see that our treats are regular size candy bars instead of the usual fun size they get at most other houses. Much to our kids dismay we started this tradition after they stopped trick or treating. Even though they are adults now it doesn't stop them from still trick or treating our house even if they are not dressed up. I always have extra after Halloween is over so I don't feel to sorry for them :)

Craft Room

This last week I have been slowly going though all the tubs of my crafting stuff and trying to get it organized in the craft room that Rick made for me. Boy what a task. I have a lot of crafting things. I have emptied 15 Rubbermaid 18 gallon tubs. I still have more to go, but am running out of room until I clean out these large 4 cubbie shelves that we acquired many years ago when Valley River was remodeling. We scored great shelves, drawers and cubbies. Hopefully soon I will be done.

Anniversary

On Wed. June 24, Rick and I celebrated our 31st wedding anniversary. The saying time flies when you are having fun sure does apply. I just don't know where are those years went. Oh well I hope we have at least 31more years of wedded bliss ahead.

Time Flies

Boy, I didn't realize it had been so long since I had written a new post.

My friend, Pam, and I went on a shop hop to the different quilting shops around. There were 10 with an added bonus stop at a vacuum and sewing center. We are keeping our fingers crossed about winning one of the big prizes, fabric from each shop.

Tomorrow is May Day, so happy May Day to everyone. I can't believe the year is 1/3 over. Last week my nephew was in one of the local Kids helping Kids pageant and he won. He is the 2009 Lion King for Cottage Grove High School. Congrats to Sam, we are very proud of the work he's done and money the money he raised for Children's Miracle Network.

Birthday Month

Well my birthday month is upon us. My daughters have a wonderful party planned for me. We are having a "girls night in" spa party. Mandi has done some research and found some cool reciepes facial masks, body scrubs, foot soaks, eye soothers. She has made a spa menu with a lot of choices. Kim will be making chicken enchiladas and spanish rice while Mandi will be making the desserts. I'm very spoiled with great kids.
On my actual birthday I will be in Disneyland with Rick. He took 2 days off and we are planning to take a short vacation to wherever I want to go. February may be a short month but it will be packed.

Happy New Year

Well a brand new year is upon us, I wish everyone a bright and happy one.
I finally took a picture of what our house looks like now that the vinyl siding is done. It really looks nice. I have been busy making puppy toys and blankets to send with the new babies when they leave. Dakota had a litter of 3 on November 14. They are 8 weeks old today. Emmy left last night and Willow sure does miss her sister. This is the first litter that a male is the biggest. Cooper sure doesn't miss many meals. They are all real sweethearts. I believe that this will be our last litter unless Tonka is pregnant.

Turkey Day next week

Thanksgiving is next week already. I think we have everything we need. I just heard on GMA that 45 million turkeys will be eaten, that's a lot of turkey. Chris doesn't like turkey so we have a ham along with the turkey at our Thanksgiving celebration.
I made a really cool fall table runner and then put the same design on a dish towel and hot pads. They were so cute. I gave them to Rick's mom for holiday festiveness. She was tickled. I should have taken a picture first though. Maybe I will go down and take pictures. Well Happy Thanksgiving to everyone and don't forget to count your blessings :)
